Paper Submission Guide

European Open Science currently accepts manuscripts for publication only in English. Submissions have not been published previously nor submitted simultaneously elsewhere in any language. The copyright form will be provided for the accepted papers.

We follows a publication model that allows us to minimize publishing costs. This model aims to delegate manuscript copyediting/layout adaptation efforts to authors so that they do not have to pay for these services.

Manuscript Template

Manuscripts must be submitted in the format provided by our journals. MS Word (.doc) or LaTeX versions are available on journal websites.

Article Publication Fees

When a manuscript is accepted for publication, the authors will be asked to pay an Article Publication Fee (APF) to cover publication costs. European Open Science applies different publication fees to its journals. Please check out the journal's website in order to learn about article publication fees.

Paper Selection and Processes

Step 1: Submission

When you submit a manuscript online, you will receive a submission acknowledgement letter sent by the online system automatically. For email submission, the editor or editorial assistant sends an e-mail confirmation to the submission’s author within one to three working days. If you fail to receive this confirmation, please check your bulk email box or contact the editorial assistant.

Step 1: Pre-Review Evaluation

The editor or editorial assistant determines whether the manuscript fits the journal’s focus and scope. Next, a check for the similarity rate is done using CrossCheck, powered by iThenticate. Any manuscripts out of the journal’s scope or containing plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, are rejected.

Step 3: Peer Review

We use a double-blind system for peer-review; both reviewers’ and authors’ identities remain anonymous. The paper will be peer-reviewed by two or three experts; one is an editorial staff and the other two are external reviewers. The review process may take around four weeks.

Step 4: Decision (Acceptance/Rejection/Revision)

The decision (Acception, Revision or Decline) is based on expert reviewers. If there is no consensus among the reviewers, the editor will weigh all comments and arrive at a balanced decision based on all comments, or the second round of peer-review may be initiated.

Step 5: Copyediting Process-Step 1

The authors must adapt the layout of the paper according to the manuscript template and formatting requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Step 5: Copyediting Process-Step 2

After receiving the adapted paper, our production staff produces a galley proof version of the manuscript and authors will be invited to validate the final version of the paper.

Step 7: Online Publication & Indexing

The PDF version of the manuscript will be available on the journal’s webpage, gold open-acces, free of charge for download. The published article is indexed in CrossRef and assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI). This means that all of our references are made available and citations can be tracked by the publishing community with a DOI number. In addition, it is indexed in Google Scholar, ROAD, SCILIT, WorldCat, ScienceOpen.
